These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Live Earth Reports, including community-submitted Earth, Weather, and Sky event reports, maps, alerts, area watches, follows, questions, confirmations, replies, uploaded media, major-event pages, and other features. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

Purpose of the service

Live Earth Reports is a community reporting and informational platform. Reports are witness accounts and may not be independently verified. The site is not an emergency dispatch service, public-safety agency, government agency, scientific authority, weather service, utility provider, legal service, or substitute for official warnings or professional advice. Read the full Disclaimer.

Eligibility and responsibility

You must be legally able to agree to these terms. Children under 13 may not submit personal information. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of information you provide and for activity performed through any account, email address, or device under your control.

Your submissions

You keep ownership of content you create. By submitting reports, questions, replies, confirmations, titles, descriptions, photographs, video, audio, locations, links, or other material, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, format, edit for clarity or safety, moderate, translate, create display versions, publish, distribute, promote, group, map, archive, and otherwise use that material in connection with operating and publicizing the service.

Public content may appear on report pages, maps, category pages, community pages, major-event pages, search results, feeds, social previews, emails, alerts, and other Live Earth Reports features. The license continues while the material is published and for reasonable backups, archives, legal records, previously distributed copies, and technical operation of the service.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the material and that publishing it does not violate privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, contractual, safety, or other rights.

Prohibited conduct

You may not submit or promote false emergency claims; fabricated reports presented as fact; spam; threats; harassment; doxxing; private personal information; impersonation; malicious or deceptive links; malware; scams; unlawful material; copyrighted material you do not have permission to use; sexual exploitation; dangerous instructions; content encouraging violence or illegal activity; or anything that creates an unreasonable safety risk for other people. Additional rules appear in the Community Guidelines.

Moderation and enforcement

Reports, questions, replies, confirmations, titles, descriptions, locations, links, and uploaded media may be reviewed, edited for clarity or safety, corrected, labeled, grouped, moved, merged, reduced in location precision, approved, rejected, unpublished, preserved, or removed at our discretion. We may block abuse, limit access, preserve evidence, or disclose information when reasonably needed to operate the service, enforce policies, protect people, investigate misconduct, comply with law, or respond to rights claims.

We are not required to publish any submission, retain it permanently, monitor every submission, or explain every moderation decision.

Reports are not official confirmations

A report appearing on the site does not mean the event has been officially confirmed, scientifically verified, or correctly explained. Reports may contain mistakes, incomplete information, approximate locations, incorrect times, duplicate observations, outdated information, speculation, or witness opinions.

Major-event pages, official-source notes, related links, maps, counts, and comparisons are intended to help organize information when available, but they are not final proof of cause and should not be treated as emergency guidance.

Safety and emergency situations

Do not rely on Live Earth Reports to determine whether an emergency exists or what action to take. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services and follow official instructions. Confirm severe-weather, earthquake, wildfire, air-quality, utility, evacuation, law-enforcement, and public-safety information through the appropriate official agencies.

Email alerts and community features

Email alerts, area watches, follow buttons, weekly digests, community confirmations, and replies are optional convenience features. Delivery may be delayed, filtered, duplicated, missed, interrupted, or unavailable. You are responsible for choosing appropriate alert settings and must not rely on site emails or community activity for emergency information.

Third-party services

The site may use or link to mapping, advertising, analytics, hosting, security, email, social-media, storage, or other third-party services. We do not control their availability, security, content, accuracy, or privacy practices.

Intellectual property

The site design, branding, software, original editorial content, and compilations are protected by applicable law. Limited personal, noncommercial viewing is permitted. You may not scrape, republish, sell, frame, reverse engineer, or systematically extract site content or data without permission, except as allowed by law. Copyright complaints are handled under our Copyright & DMCA Policy.

Site changes and availability

We may change, pause, remove, reorganize, restrict, or discontinue any feature at any time. Maps, categories, counts, coordinates, timestamps, reports, emails, links, images, pages, and stored information may contain errors, delays, or omissions and may be unavailable or lost. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or permanent retention.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or freedom from harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Live Earth Reports and its operators, contributors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, property damage, personal injury, missed warnings, failed deliveries, or decisions made in reliance on site content. Some jurisdictions do not permit all limitations, so portions may not apply to you.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify the site operator from claims, liabilities, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your submissions, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Wisconsin and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the service changes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. Questions may be sent through our Contact page or to Contact@LiveEarthReports.com.
